Digital Earth Solutions (DES) looks for a Senior frontend developer.

Who we are

At DES, a CSIC spin-off specializing in ocean modeling, we utilize advanced ocean modeling and remote sensing techniques to track and analyze the movement of objects floating in the ocean, such as oil spills, plastic debris, algae blooms, and people needing search and rescue. Our team has over 20 years of expertise in physical oceanography, geophysics, and computational fluid dynamics. We have developed proprietary algorithms and workflows to ingest real-time data from satellites, buoys, tidal gauges, and meteorological sources to generate high-fidelity simulations of ocean currents and waves. Within minutes, our systems can predict the present and future trajectory of any spilled pollutant or drifting object, forecasting how it will transport and diffuse across hundreds of miles. Our accurate ocean intelligence informs critical decisions to build a sustainable future.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a Senior frontend developer to join our technology innovation team. If you are a frontend expert passionate about creating exceptional user interfaces and contributing to solutions that advance ocean knowledge and sustainability, we want you!

    • Advanced experience with CI/CD workflows, automated integrations, and agile development environments.
    • Proficiency with containers and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Desired Qualifications:
    • Experience with AWS or Google Cloud for scalable architectures.
    • Knowledge of programming for scientific applications and modeling.
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and best practices for handling sensitive data.
  • Location and Language:
