José Molero Zayas, honored in the Technology and Knowledge Transfer Awards of the Complutense University of Madrid

On July 3rd, the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) published the list of awarded candidates in the 4th Technology and Knowledge Transfer Awards granted by the University itself, in which José Molero Zayas, Professor of Applied Economics at the UCM and trustee of the Madrid Science Park Foundation, has been honored in the category of excellence in transfer, in the areas of Sciences and Humanities.

The award is given in recognition of the transfer activities of UCM research results; whether they are university-business contracts, patents, or technology-based companies. Its objectives are, among others, to promote transfer to society through social, cultural, and economic development and to contribute to the social dissemination of science, research, innovation, and technological development.

José Molero ZayasJosé Molero Zayas has been a Professor of Applied Economics at the UCM since 1989. Professor of Industrial Economics and Economics of Innovation, he is currently the director of the Research Group on Economics and Innovation Policy (UCM); coordinator of the Interuniversity Doctoral Program in Economics and Innovation Management (Autonomous University of Madrid, Complutense University of Madrid, and Polytechnic University of Madrid); vice-president of the Team of Specialists in Innovation and Competitive Policies (TOS-ICP) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe; president of the Forum of Innovative Companies; member of the Board of Trustees of the Madrid Science Park Foundation and member of the R Budget Commission of the Confederation of Scientific Societies of Spain (COSCE).

Previously, Professor Molero has been Vice-Rector of Postgraduate Studies and Continuing Education (UCM) and director of the Complutense Institute of International Studies (UCM), the Department of Applied Economics II (UCM), the Institute of Industrial and Financial Analysis (UCM), and the Virtual Business Incubator of the Community of Madrid.

He has collaborated with and been a consultant for Spanish and international organizations such as MINECO, MINER, CDTI, ICEX, AECID, Community of Madrid, Junta de Andalucía, Government of the Canary Islands, Community of Castilla la Mancha, Spanish Energy Club, Alliance for Energy Research and Innovation (ALINNE), EUREKA Program, European Commission, Ibero-American General Secretariat, CEPAL or European Institute of Technology and Innovation.

Professor Molero is also the author of multiple books and a wide number of articles in national and international scientific journals. His main lines of research are: economics of innovation; evaluation of public technology and innovation policies; economics of industrial organization; international economics and multinational companies.
