3 students create Green Volcano and win the best business project award at the UCM entrepreneur awards

José Manuel Mateos Rodríguez, along with two classmates, has created Green Volcano. A cutting-edge technology for creating lighters with sustainable materials for barbecues and fireplaces.

Their idea has received the award for the best business project in the entrepreneur awards of the Complutense University of Madrid, which means a year of accommodation and advice from the expert panel of the business incubator that the Madrid Science Park operates on the Cantoblanco Campus.

Along with them, a total of eleven awards have been given in different categories for the best ideas, projects, and companies emerging from the university environment of the Complutense University of Madrid, a founding institution, together with the Autonomous University of Madrid, of the Madrid Science Park.

The initiative, promoted by the Complutense University of Madrid, through its Vice-Rectorate for Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship and the Complutense Office of Entrepreneurship, aims to promote knowledge transfer and innovation at UCM. Additionally, it seeks to spread the entrepreneurial spirit among students from all branches of knowledge, promote and support entrepreneurial initiatives of students, as well as contribute to the development and innovation of productive and social structures.
