Two companies associated with the Madrid Science Park awarded at the XI Madri+d prizes

Enzymlogic and Nimgenetics, two success stories from the Madrid Science Park, have received well-deserved recognition at the Madri+d Foundation awards for their work in the fields of biochemistry and biomedicine, respectively.

Both companies, founded by scientists, have managed to optimally exploit their inventions to turn them into technology-based companies. Two good examples of how to transfer R results to society.


Enzymlogic, best technology-based company

Enzymlogic has been awarded as the best technology-based company. technology-based companyA prize that recognizes the high degree of innovation in its assay platform for new drugs and the involvement in the project of its two founders, biochemists Patricia Alfonso and Ana Corrionero.

The company specialized in enzymology offers innovative solutions in characterizing the interaction of drugs with their targets. Thanks to its platform, discovery campaigns are accelerated by combining thermodynamic, kinetic, and structural information.

 

Nimgenetics, special mention from the jury

For its part, Nimgenetics has received a special mention in the awards for its contribution to wealth and job creation. In just over eight years, the biomedical company that began its activity with a small laboratory in the Madrid Science Park now has a human team of over fifty people and a headquarters in Brazil. Furthermore, the Madrid-based company is present in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, United Kingdom, Portugal, and India, and plans to expand to new markets in the next three years.

Nimgenetics, an international leader in clinical genetic diagnosis, designs and uses cutting-edge technology such as CGH arrays, next-generation sequencing, and FISH probes.

The awards, sponsored by PONS Intellectual Property, also included other categories such as best patent, best technology-based idea, best European RD cooperation project, or best scientific communication initiative.
