The European University of Madrid (UEM) launches for 4 weeks, between June and July 2018, the 2nd edition of the Business Ideas Acceleration Program in Biotechnology, which this year has the collaboration of the Madrid Scientific Park Foundation (FPCM), promoted by UAM and UCM.

This Acceleration Program is aimed at second-year students of the double degree in Biotechnology and Pharmacy at UEM, winners of the IBL (Ideas Based Learning) contest offered by the University itself, and rewards the best business ideas/solutions for cancer therapy, gene therapy and diabetes treatment.

The Program, which takes place in the Hub Emprende space at UEM (located on the Alcobendas Campus) has been specially designed for the biotechnology sector and consists of workshops and personalized mentoring sessions for each winning work group of the contest, the latter led by professionals David Segarra, Marta de Vicente and Pepa Casado. The goal is to bring students closer to professionals with extensive experience in the sector, discuss and reflect on the key points of developing a biocompany and analyze the viability of the best ideas.

The syllabus is based on the following work blocks: team creation and talent management, legal issues and intellectual property, biotechnology commercialization, financing and growth of biocompanies. For this, the program counts on the participation of Enrique Samper and Miguel del Cerro from Nimgenetics, Miguel Ángel Llamas from Empireo, Pablo Pomposiello from Bacmine and Antonio Delgado from Natac, companies associated with FPCM.
