The FPCM EEN team accompanies UTEK in FEINDEF23

Last May, the EEN (Enterprise Europe Network) team of the FPCM accompanied the Madrid-based company UTEK to FEINDEF23, the largest security and defence fair in Spain.

UTEK is a Madrid-based company founded by César Martínez and Eduardo de Diego in 2016 with headquarters in the Park. He is one of the clients of #EENCanHelp and a clear success story of the EEN network in the Park. UTEK develops unmanned vessel systems (USV, Unmanned Surface Vehicle) with aerospace technology, for security, defense and marine research purposes. Its presence in #FEINDEF has increased its network of international contacts through bilateral meetings organized by the EEN Madrid.

UTEK’s competitive advantage is based on offering highly reliable solutions adapted to the customer’s needs. The Madrid-based company also provides a complete support service before and after the sale.

A magnificent 2022

2022 was already a year full of achievements for UTEK, starting with its participation in the IDEX23 (International Defence Exhibition) held in Abu Dhabi, one of the most important in the Middle East dedicated to unmanned systems. UTEK’s presence aroused great interest both from potential clients and from several international investment groups. In September of that same year, he participated, hand in hand with the Navy and the Ministry of Defence, in Dynamic Messenger 22, the first NATO exercise in which unmanned systems have been integrated into its operations. UTEK’s USV “Kaluga” was embarked on the Navy’s Maritime Action Vessel “Audaz”.

To end the year, the USV “Kunai” was delivered to the Ministry of Defence, the result of an R+D development financed by the Ministry itself, which will be the first of its kind to be operational in the Navy. Kunai is a leap forward in the company’s developments. It features a new design with high capabilities and low radar detectability, but maintains the high reliability that is the hallmark of the company.

And a very promising 2023

For UTEK this year it also looks quite good. It has begun with this participation in FEINDEF23 and continues with the Navy’s FLOTEX 23 exercises, which began on June 5 and will be carried out until the 16th in the Mediterranean. Finally, they will participate with NATO in Dynamic Messenger 23 aboard a Navy ship in Portuguese waters.

In conclusion, UTEK has positioned itself at the forefront of European technology companies specialized in the development of unmanned systems, after achieving the highest grade on the technological maturity scale (TRL9). L FPCM collaborates closely with UTEK through different advisory services, such as corporate communication, with the mission of disseminating the potential of UTEK among agents in the safety, security and marine R+D sector.
