The FPCM, in collaboration with EIT Health Spain, has today awarded the II Health to Market awards for innovation in health and biomedicine. The award-winning companies were 2EyesVision in the category over 3 years old and Horus ML and Medea Mind in the category from 0 to 3 years old. The jury has valued the innovative and disruptive nature of the companies, their impact on improving people’s health and well-being, commercial viability, their potential for international development and the capacity for collaboration of the proposals with entities of the R+D+i system of the Community of Madrid.

CSIC spin-off 2EyesVision, winner over 3 years

Specifically, the spin-off of the Daza de Valdés Institute of Optics of the CSIC in Madrid 2EyesVision has developed a visual simulation technology that allows patients who are going to have cataract or presbyopia surgery to obtain a simulation of how they will see after the operation.

The startups Horus ML and Medea Mind, awards for companies up to 3 years old

For its part, Horus ML, a member of the Madrid City Council’s Puerta Innovación hub, offers a technological tool that integrates optical devices and artificial intelligence to detect atherosclerosis when it is still asymptomatic and other cardiovascular risks, which improves its prevention and treatment.

The third laureate, Medea Mind, has created software that makes it easier to continuously monitor mental health. The app acts as a co-pilot that combines triage, data visualization, and artificial intelligence to support practitioners in treatment selection and patient follow-up. The company is part of a public-private network with the Complutense and Villanueva universities and the Clínico San Carlos and 12 de Octubre hospitals.

Specialized market access and internationalization services

The Health to Market Awards are part of the FPCM’s activities in its work to promote and support the creation and growth of knowledge-based companies and within the framework of the actions of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) to internationalise SMEs. They are aimed at young health and biomedicine companies linked to the innovative ecosystem of the Community of Madrid and aligned with the regional smart specialisation strategy. The award-winning companies will receive expert advice on market access and internationalisation from partners of EIT Health Spain, EIT Health’s regional hub, of which the FPCM is a network partner. The beneficiary projects will also have the possibility of participating in subsequent FPCM, EIT Health and EEN programmes.

Delivery ceremony on December 11

The formal ceremony for the II Health to Market Awards will take place on December 11 at the FPCM facilities on the Cantoblanco campus (Madrid). Registration for the event will open to the public in the coming days through the link above.
