The Community of Madrid Reaches Out to Innovative Companies in the Madrid Scientific Park

innovative-companies-Community-MadridThe Regional Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Rafael Van Grieken, along with the Director General of Universities and Research, José Manuel Torralba, and the Deputy Director General of Research, Rafael García, accompanied by representatives from the Autonomous and Complutense Universities of Madrid, led by José María Sanz, Rector of UAM, and José Manuel Pingarrón, Vice-Rector for Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship of UCM, have visited the facilities of the Madrid Scientific Park.

During their tour, they had the opportunity to learn innovative companiesfirst-hand about various projects from some of the most innovative companies established in the incubator that the Park manages in the UAM+CSIC International Campus of Excellence in Cantoblanco.

Pharmactive has presented its catalog of natural-origin actives with pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cosmetic applications.
Protheus, for its part, has previewed the advantages that the market launch of its microfluidic devices will bring, capable of analyzing multiple biomarkers from a drop of blood in just a few minutes.
BioAssays has mentioned how from its biochemical research platform innovative-companies-lifelengthit combines its own developments and those for third parties.

At a second stop, Life Length, a company that emerged from CNIO and supported by the Botín Foundation, has explained how it has managed to consolidate its growth thanks to a strong international presence. In just five years, Life Length is already a world reference in telomere measurement as indicators of biological age and the organism’s health status.

After the presentations, all members of the visit have not hesitated to praise the work of these scientific entrepreneurs and have mentioned the role played by centers such as the Madrid Scientific Park in making the collaboration between University and Business and the creation of scientific-technological start-ups a reality.
