The Community of Madrid joins the FPCM Board of Trustees

The Community of Madrid and the FPCM have signed a collaboration agreement through which the regional government will become part of the
FPCM board of trustees, through the Vice-Presidency, Ministry of Education and Universities. This incorporation represents a strong support for the Science Park, which is promoted by the Autonomous and Complutense Universities of Madrid, and which has the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the Centre for Energy, Environmental and Technological Research (CIEMAT) and the Madrid City Council on its board of trustees.

With more than two decades of experience, the FPCM is today a national and international benchmark for its activity in support of the most innovative entrepreneurs in science and technology. In the words of Pilar Gil, general director of the FPCM, “the recent decision of the Vice-Presidency, Ministry of Education and Universities, to join the Madrid Science Park Foundation is news that we receive with great joy and pride, given that our Park is one of the most relevant and active in the Madrid region. We believe that this new alliance will further strengthen the lines of work in which we have collaborated together with the Community of Madrid for years”.

For his part, Fidel Rodríguez Batalla, Deputy Minister of Universities, Science and Innovation of the Community of Madrid, said that “the Community of Madrid supports and promotes unique projects of international projection that are oriented towards the creation of social, economic and scientific value. In this case, the creation and incubation of scientific-technological based companies allows us to turn the ideas and knowledge developed in universities, IMDEAs and other R+D centers into useful products and services for citizens.”
