Sci4Tech receives the Madrid Science Park Accommodation Award in the 14th edition of the UAM University Entrepreneur Award

The founders of Sci4tech, a spin-off from the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies in Nanoscience (IMDEA Nanoscience), presented a novel high-security identification system to the competition.
U-key, as they have named their product, is an identification card that stores all the passwords a user has for different computer services.
A highly innovative development that has made them worthy recipients of the Madrid Science Park award. University Entrepreneur AwardThis award will offer them the opportunity to enjoy the full range of business advisory services that the Park offers to its associated companies for one year.

For its part, BioTech Service received the Madrid Science Park runner-up prize for its marketplace connecting laboratories interested in commercializing their biotechnological experiments among themselves.

Along with them, 8 other ideas in the fields of education, biotechnology, computer security, geolocation, health sciences, social sciences, or social innovation were also awarded. (See all the winning projects).

The award ceremony took place on February 9th and was presided over by Isidro de Pablo, director of CIADE; Máximo Juan Pérez, Rector’s Delegate for Employability and External Relations; and Arsenio Huergo, First Vice President of the Social Council of the Autonomous University of Madrid.

The UAM CIADE University Entrepreneur Award aims to stimulate the development of entrepreneurial initiatives by students, professors, researchers, and support staff from all Madrid universities.

It consists of two consecutive phases: a training process for the participants, followed by the preparation of the Business Plan with the help of specialists, which has been the determining factor for the awarding of the prizes. Throughout this process, all contestants have had the help, resources, and personalized advice from CIADE, as well as 30 hours of complementary training on different aspects of designing and launching a business project.

Since its creation, more than 1,000 competing teams have entered the University Entrepreneur Award, resulting in 371 finalists and the creation of 154 companies.
