Orbital Paradigm, a pioneering startup in the development of autonomous space capsules for rapid and routine transport from orbit to Earth, is looking to add a Senior Avionics Engineer (Space Sector) to its team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and testing the company’s spacecraft avionics systems. You will take ownership of the flight electronics architecture and development, working closely with other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.

This role combines hands-on work, technical leadership, and the opportunity to shape a key part of an innovative product that supports in-space manufacturing, science, and logistics.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop complete avionics systems, from architecture to hardware and embedded software.
  • Lead the prototyping and testing of flight units (onboard computers, communications, GNC, payload control).
  • Select and integrate components, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Develop electronics for signal processing, power management, interfaces, and control systems.
  • Lead subsystem integration and full avionics testing within the spacecraft.
  • Contribute to proposal writing, technical strategies, and system-level planning.
  • Guide and mentor the avionics team.

 

Your Profile:
  • Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Aerospace, Industrial, Telecommunications, or a similar field).
  • Ideally, 5+ years of hands-on experience in avionics design and development.
  • Strong skills in embedded systems, prototyping, and hardware/software integration.
  • Experience in avionics system architecture and spacecraft data-handling.
  • Comfortable with testing, validation, and integration of complex systems.
  • Fluent in English.

 

Ideal Experience:
  • Familiarity with ECSS standards and systems engineering tools.
  • Experience in selecting and qualifying flight avionics.
