The #InnoFood conference highlights the food technology offerings of the UAM+CSIC International Campus of Excellence in collaboration with the Enterprise Europe Network
On October 17th, nearly 130 people from the food sector gathered at the Madrid Scientific Park Foundation to attend #InnoFood: The Nutrition of the Future, a conference organized by the Autonomous University of Madrid through its Foundation (FUAM) and the Madrid Scientific Park Foundation (FPCM), in collaboration with the madri+d Knowledge Foundation and within the framework of the Enterprise Europe Network; the largest support network for SMEs with an internationalization vocation.

The opening of #InnoFood was led by the Vice-Rector for Innovation and Technology Transfer of the UAM, Javier Ortega, and the General Director of Innovation and Research of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Community of Madrid, Alejandro Arranz, who emphasized that “research and innovation in the food sector have a great future in Madrid, which has cutting-edge centers and initiatives in this field, deserving the support of the innovation policy of the Community of Madrid.”
Through this conference, the technological supply and demand of the UAM+CSIC Campus has been highlighted, through Guillermo Reglero, director of IMDEA Food, the research groups coordinated by José Luis Pau, Jesús Rodríguez and Javier Señorans, and the innovative companies NATAC, AORA and Pharmactive, housed in the Madrid Scientific Park. The meeting presented industry trends and perspectives as well as funding challenges and opportunities, through Nuria María Arribas, R&D&I director of the Spanish Federation of Food and Drink Industries (FIAB), for whom “conducting applied innovation is essential, involving all agents in the value chain”, Eduardo Cotillas from the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), and Javier García Madruga and José Luis Cabañero from the companies Reimagine Food and Eatable Adventures.
At the end of the presentations, a B2B meeting with personalized appointments with the speakers was held, for which nearly 80 bilateral meetings were arranged.

The event reflected the aggregating capacity of the UAM+CSIC International Campus of Excellence, in collaboration with the PCM Foundation and the UAM Foundation, in an impactful sector such as food, in which the UAM carries out significant activity through its university research groups, CIAL, IMDEA Food, and new companies incubated in the Madrid Scientific Park. It has allowed researchers and new companies from the UAM+CSIC campus to connect with other sector agents and foster future collaborations, through the Enterprise Europe Network, in a logical sequence that goes from research, through the creation of new companies, to industry.
