On April 7, 8, and 9, the agri-food sector group of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) will meet in Madrid to help SMEs in the sector grow and innovate.

The event, coordinated by the Madrid Science Park, will feature sessions led by technical experts from various European countries, as well as representatives from companies and research centers at the UAM campus. The objective of the meeting is to discuss key market trends, regulatory updates, and explore new collaboration opportunities.

EEN Agri-Food Sector Group

The Agri-Food Sector Group plays a crucial role in supporting SMEs by facilitating connections with international partners, funding sources, and specialized knowledge. This powerful network of experts helps businesses in their internationalization process and serves as a bridge between companies and policymakers, contributing to policies that benefit the agri-food sector. With more than 100 active members from 28 countries, the group promotes innovation, sustainability, and resilience in food production and distribution.

The meeting will focus on helping companies access international markets, adopt sustainable measures, and transition to digitalization. Through bilateral matchmaking sessions and networking opportunities, businesses will connect with potential partners to explore new collaboration possibilities. Experts will also share insights on sustainable food production, digital tools, and regulatory frameworks, ensuring that SMEs remain competitive and compliant with current regulations.

Funding Opportunities

A key part of the agenda will be EU funding opportunities, where businesses will learn about available grants and financial support. Sustainability will also be a major topic, with discussions on eco-friendly packaging, waste reduction, and alignment with the EU Green Deal objectives. Additionally, digitalization and market trends will be explored, highlighting the impact of AI and the food supply chain.

The Agri-Food Sector Group actively supports innovative solutions, such as circular economy approaches and shorter food supply chains, contributing to a more sustainable food system. It also provides expertise in digitalization, helping businesses adopt advanced technologies to improve efficiency and resilience.

By addressing these critical topics, the Agri-Food Sector Group is a valuable resource for SMEs. The Madrid meeting will reinforce its role in helping companies grow, innovate, and compete in an ever-evolving market.
