Dr. Pilar Gil Ibáñez at the Headquarters of the Madrid Scientific Park Foundation
- Pilar Gil Ibáñez, PhD MBA, has a dual scientific and management profile, with extensive professional experience; she has been at the helm of the Barcelona Science Park management and has accumulated experience in research and national and international R projects.
- For the first time since the creation of the PCM Foundation in 2001, a ‘STEM’ (Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematics) woman leads the General Management of the aforementioned Park.
Dr. Pilar Gil Ibáñez has assumed the General Management of the Madrid Scientific Park Foundation (FPCM) since June 2018, an appointment that was ratified in an ordinary Board of Trustees session held on June 7. Previously, Dr. Gil had been leading the Management of the Barcelona Science Park since 2016.
Dr. Gil holds a degree in Biochemistry from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), a PhD in Biomedicine from the CSIC-UAM Biomedical Research Institute, and has completed a Master’s in Biotechnology (UAM), complemented by an MBA from IESE Business School. In her international career, Dr. Gil has conducted research at the universities of Columbia, Chicago (USA) and Edinburgh (UK) from 2008 to 2013, in the areas of biotechnology, neuroscience, genetics, endocrinology, and rare diseases.
For the first time since the Park’s creation in 2001, a woman from the field of so-called ‘STEM’ disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematics) occupies the general management of the FPCM, which currently houses in its business incubator nearly 100 innovative scientific-technological companies and entities in the areas of Life Sciences and Chemistry, Information and Communication Technologies, Renewable Energy and Environment, and Engineering and New Materials.
