On June 7, 8 and 9, the South Summit 2023<\/a> took place at La Nave in Madrid<\/a>, one of the most important events in the entrepreneurship and innovation sector. The FPCM team was lucky enough to be there to share their work and projects, such as CaTaPull<\/a>, with companies such as Dendron Neurotechnologies<\/a> or Bread Free<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the rain and autumn weather, many people gathered at La Nave to share a few days where almost all the conversations revolved around the business sector. From early in the morning the corridors were crowded with people, getting a coffee or a position in a rest area was a complicated task. <\/span><\/p>\n

The large number of attendees was synonymous with the success of South Summit 2023, where both the talks and the stands<\/em> were full of people interested in the ideas or topics being presented. These topics ranged from science and technology, food or even the banking sector. <\/span><\/p>\n

At stand <\/em>112 of the South Summit 2023, funded by the Madrid City Council, the Madrid Science Park was present. Different companies in the scaling program CaTaPull UP<\/a> were at the stand<\/em> to publicize their projects. One of them was Dendron Neurotechnologies, who showed their project on neurotechnology and the prototype of a headband with which to see brain activity. Another was Bread Free, one of the 100 finalist startups<\/em> that shared the whistled in the “Consumer Trends” category, presenting its project that uses biotechnology and artificial intelligence to manufacture wheat flour suitable for celiacs. Healthy Minds Analytics, Raven, Digital Earth Solutions<\/a>, Disrupep, Inspiration-Q<\/a>, LIFESOME THERAPEUTICS and Servatix Biomed<\/a> also presented their projects. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to Bread Free, other companies in the Park were part of the 100 finalist startups<\/em> in different modalities, Overture, in the health modality and Nanostine, in the Industry 5.0 modality. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Within the sessions of the ecosystem forum, Clarke&Modet<\/a> organized a debate under the title “Tech-transfer and start-ups: not as hard as it seems<\/span>“<\/span><\/em>, which was moderated by David Arbelo, project manager of the FPCM. The debate was attended by <\/span>Miguel Holgado (professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid), <\/u>Patricio G\u00f3mez (Finance and Tax Consultant at ClarkeModet) and <\/u><\/u><\/span>Jordi Mart\u00ednez (CEO of Brill Pharma). The Ecosystem Stage<\/em> discussed the importance and difficulties of Deep Tech, intellectual property protection and technology transfer. <\/p>\n

A varied and complete agenda<\/b><\/h4>\n

From 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the different stages of the South Summit you could attend conferences and competitions. <\/span>One of the most anticipated was the first day. On Wednesday at noon, Pau Gasol and Pablo Isla \u00c1lvarez de Tejeda shared the stage to talk about <\/span> “The Healthy Habits of Global Success”<\/span><\/i>. The impact of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship on society and the importance of health, sports, education and values in the business sector were discussed. In addition, Gasol pitched at the event <\/span>Gasol16 Ventures<\/span><\/i><\/a>, a project that links investment, advice and business alliances in order to support the entrepreneurial system.<\/span><\/p>\n

In startup<\/em> competitions, companies had to present their ideas in front of a jury in 3-minute pitches<\/em> on mobility, industry or consumer trends, among other topics. <\/span><\/p>\n

The varied agenda made different audiences concentrate in a Nave that ended on Friday, June 9 with the Startup Competition Awards, where companies<\/a> from the Park participated and with the Social Summit, an event full of music in the most iconic corners of Madrid. <\/span><\/p>\n

The South Summit 2023 was a spitting image of how the entrepreneurship and innovation sector is growing in Spain. In addition, it was the ideal showcase for numerous startups<\/em> to give voice to their ideas and gain visibility for investors, institutions or corporations. <\/span><\/p>\n
