Biotechvana

Biotechvana S.L. is an SME established in 2006 as a spin-off from the University of Valencia that offers services and products in computational biology and bioinformatics, primarily focused on sequencing and analysis of omics data (High-Throughput Sequencing or HTS), LIMS, software, custom programming of scripts, pipelines, and computational infrastructures. With a strong research foundation, the company participates as a full partner in several European consortia and conducts fundamental and applied research based on three major knowledge areas: GPRO, a suite of applications linked to a remote server (cloud computing) for HTS data analysis; Gypsy Database, a wiki-based database dedicated to mobile genetic elements and viruses; and ARES, an antibiotic resistance evolution simulator based on membrane computing.

The company provides comprehensive bioinformatics solutions, including training courses, consulting, hosting, as well as preparation and management of R projects.

Biotechvana’s research team comprises an interdisciplinary group of biologists, computer engineers, and programmers with extensive experience in HTS, molecular evolution, and evolutionary biology, specializing in the development of biological databases, software design, and advanced computational pipelines for high-throughput techniques. The team also includes personnel dedicated to administrative tasks, as well as specialists in proposal and manuscript preparation, and knowledge transfer.
